Well, someone had to go first, right? Cheers to the brave Roman Daves for being our 2017 summer Colvos Construction intern!

Originally from Puyallup, Roman is a 2013 Rogers High School graduate currently studying Construction Management at Brigham Young University Idaho.

Roman was catching-up with a family friend (who happens to be Vice President Anders Bjorn) over winter break when he learned about the opportunity for the internship. Anders saw the passion that Roman has for building and knew he'd be a perfect fit with the Colvos team.

"Roman is hungry to learn the ins-and-outs of the construction industry," says Anders. "I also recognized that he was a hard worker and was willing to work as a laborer on a concrete crew last summer."

Throughout the summer, Roman will be supporting the project teams with RFIs and submittals, and updating the bidders list. A hands-on guy, Roman is willing to roll-up his sleeves and help wherever he's needed, whether on-site or in the office.

"He is always willing to listen and learn from others, and I think by the end of this summer he will have accomplished a lot," says Anders.

It's the manifestation of progress in construction that drives Roman's passion for the industry.

What does Roman think about Colvos so far? "I enjoy the construction style of the company. The supervisors and employees are happy and friendly, and it is very team-oriented here."

Roman adds, "I strongly believe that efficiency is rooted in solid teamwork, and I'm glad to be a part of something with the same ideals."

We're the lucky ones to have you on-board this summer, Roman. We hope the experience is so incredible that you relentlessly brag about us to all your Construction Management friends and consider Colvos a career destination.
